Football Adventures

This Saturday turned out to be quite the day! First James and I rode our bike/trike to our ward tailgate party. We had a good time eating bbq and participating in a pie eating contest (I'm pretty sure I lost to everyone but I just wanted to get a piece of pie). As we were helping clean up at the party and trying to pawn off the extra food to passing cougar fans my brother Nate and his boys walked by. One of my nephews had decided not to come down for the game so Nate had an extra ticket and offered it to James and of course he accepted!

This was kind of funny because last week I had recieved an email from my friend Sarah saying that she and her husband were coming from San Fransico to go to the game so I decided to get off work and get some tickets for the game. I searched for tickets everyday on Craig's List (the game was sold out)and emailed several people but all I could find were $50-$100 tickets and I could not bear to pay that much for one game when a sports pass is only 100 bucks. So there I was after all my hard work to get in the game and James was going to go while I rode my trike home to watch it by myself. I was a little bummed. As I rode home I decided that I would round up all the cash we had at our house and return to see if I could get a ticket from a scalper. I rode home and rounded up 24 dollars from our "missionary jar"...I'm not sure why James calls it that. I sped back (as fast as my one speed ghetto trike can go) and started negotiating. I talked a man in a wife beater riding a razor scooter into selling a ticket to me for $24. I was excited at the deal considering that James and I both got in for $24. I missed the first quarter but I still got to see plenty of action... all of it from the Cougars. All in all it was a great adventure - we got to hang out with friends, push the trike to the limits, get some sun, and watch BYU kill UCLA.
