1. Can someone teach me how to crochet? I bought a book. I looked at the book. I can't follow directions to save my life. I can make chains all day long...after that I'm a lost cause.
2. Can someone teach me how to take details shots, pictures up close, whatever you want to call it? I made a bunch of letterpressed valentine cards last week. I just tried to take pictures of them outside (natural light right???) and they turned out okay but I would like for them to turn out great. Then maybe I could put them on etsy and maybe I could make some money and then maybe I could pay for this hobby of mine.
even something like this would do:

I did not make this card. I found it on the internet and I'm just using it as an example.

did you use the macro setting on your camera? It is usually the little flower symbol. By the way, hi mere!
don't know if i could be much help on the crochet. i did linked the chains up when i was little... well i'm still kind of little so maybe i'll remember.
and MAYBE i can help on the photos too. you're right... natural light... but i would maybe take the pics inside just outside a window, and use something to reflect the light onto it instead of positioning it directly under light?
i'm not a photographer either though, don't you have photographer crochet-ing friends?
way cute 'miss you' card. i miss you too.
Mom Hendricks can help you crochet for sure!!! She could be in town any day now depending on when baby comes. I'm sure she'd be happy to help!
And Dad Hendricks could show you some photography stuff when he comes! I'm pretty sure he's coming too at one point, haha.
This is a good link that explains a lot of good tips and shows photos of how to stage and photograph detailed inanimate objects.
